Lots of festive cheer as Harmony Belles raises £3,000 for charity at their ‘Christmas in Harmony’ Concert on Saturday 6th December 2025

In the beautiful setting of All Saints Church, Marlow and featuring the amazing Thames Valley Chorus, Harmony Belles once again raised the roof at our 'Christmas in Harmony' Concert.

Our Christmas concert is fast becoming a must-attend event in the festive calendar and we were delighted to perform to a fully-packed 200 plus audience.

Looking very festive in our glittery Christmas colours of red, green and gold, we sang traditional and modern Christmas favourites as well as entertaining the audience with some popular ‘adjacent’ Christmas songs including a beautiful acapella of Enya’s ‘May It Be’ from the Lord of the Rings films and ‘Can you Feel the Love Tonight’ from the Lion King.

We sang well-known Christmas carols such as ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, and we performed the very stirring carol, ‘O Holy Night’ arranged by our very own Musical Director Anne Fairbrother.

We ended the evening singing together with the Thames Valley Chorus for the first time. Anne conducted both choirs as we sang the beautiful ‘Carol of the Bells’. A perfect song to end such a magical evening.

As our supporters will know, Harmony Belles is foremost about singing together for joy but running a very close second is performing in concerts and raising money for our chosen charities. This year we were supporting two incredible local charities, The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and Scannappeal and were delighted to raise £3,000 on the night to be shared between the two charities.

We are so grateful to our audience for their kindness and donations. We really couldn’t have done it without you. THANK YOU!

The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity – Supporting Families with a Seriously Ill Child

The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

There are an estimated 86,625* children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This number has trebled over the last 17 years and is rising. Thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day to day basis.

The charity’s Family Support Workers provide a lifeline to these families and children. We have been informed that our donation of £1,500 is the average cost of support for a family with a seriously ill child for a 9 months. We feel honoured and proud of our donation to a charity playing such an important part in the community. For more information about the charity visit Our Why page or go to www.rainbowtrust.org.uk

Scannappeal donation - With members of the Breast Clinic, Wycombe Hospital

Bucks Scannappeal

Scannappeal raises funds to purchase life-saving equipment for Amersham, Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Community Hospitals. They have raised over £19m and funded equipment in every major department in the hospitals they support.

Breast screening is essential in detecting early signs of cancer, often identifying small changes in breast tissue before other symptoms appear. By improving accessibility to these vital cancer screening services, Scannappeal aims to encourage more women to undergo screening, which can lead to earlier detection and ultimately save more lives.

Scannappeal are currently fund raising for a new, fully equipped, state-of-the-art mobile mammography screening unit which will benefit areas in South Bucks, including Marlow.

For more information about Scannappeal visit Our Why Page or go to https://scannappeal.org.uk/appeals/mobile-breast-screening-appeal/

We were delighted to raise £1,500 towards this essential equipment and when we visited the unit at Wycombe Hospital to present the cheque, we met many of the medical and support professionals and were able to see just how essential this new mobile unit will be for the women of South Bucks, and in particular Marlow.

Indeed as an all-female choir, we know just how important such a screening service will be to women in these areas. We are thrilled that our donation has been recognised for a spot on the Scannappeal Giving Tree – Circles of Support, a special initiative that recognises significant contributions to the Mobile Breast Screening Appeal. We look forward to hearing more updates on this appeal.
